Palais Builders
Design-led construction, Oakville ON
A custom production site for a design-led builder working across custom homes, full-home renovations, and franchise build-outs. Built to read as a premium studio to a homeowner and as an established operator to a franchise buyer at the same time.
What we did, how we did it, and what changed.
A design-led builder in Oakville needed a site that would read as a premium studio to a homeowner and as an established operator to a franchise buyer at the same time. The templates dominating this space were interchangeable contractor pages that told neither story well.
We built a bespoke drafting-language design system from scratch: wine ink base, gold drafting lines, Cormorant titles with mono end-labels, photography presented as titled plates rather than gallery grids, and a Higgs cinemagraph on the hero. A strict client privacy policy is architectural: real project street names and numbers never touch the repo, the served HTML, or any asset directory. Every project on the site is referred to by a neutral sheet code.
Every load-bearing component (DimLine, SheetHeader, Plate, WineField, Schedule, TitleBlock, RegMark, LogoMark) was drawn from the source SVG rather than sketched from memory. The PB-monogram favicon carries the exact Cormorant glyph paths. The site reads as considered and disciplined, and the end-client privacy policy is enforced at the code level rather than promised in a paragraph.
